This policy explains how Rose Valley Renovation ("Rose Valley", "we", "us") collects, uses and protects personal information through rosevalleyrenovation.com and when you contact us about a renovation. We follow Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
What we collect
Information you give us
When you fill in a form, call, text or email us, we collect what you share: your name, phone number, email address, city or address, the type of renovation, project scope, approximate size, budget range, timing, and any photos, plans or notes you send.
Information collected automatically
When you browse the site, our tools collect technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, the page that referred you, approximate location (city level), and identifiers from ads you clicked. This is done with cookies and similar technologies, described below.
How we use it
- To answer your request, call you back, book a design consultation and prepare designs, estimates and proposals.
- To plan, schedule and carry out your project, including arranging permits, trades and materials.
- To send you updates about your project and, with your consent, occasional information about our services.
- To understand how the website is used so we can improve it, and to measure which ads bring in enquiries.
- To keep records required by law and to protect our rights.
Calls, texts and emails
When you submit a form on this website and tick the consent box, you agree that Rose Valley Renovation may contact you by phone, text message and email about your project. You can withdraw consent at any time: reply STOP to any text, use the unsubscribe link in any email, or ask us by phone or email. Message and data rates may apply. We do not send marketing messages to people who have not agreed to receive them.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
We use the following services on this website. Each may set cookies or read device information, and each processes data under its own privacy policy.
- Google Analytics shows us how many people visit, which pages they view and how they found us. Google privacy policy.
- Google Ads measures enquiries that come from our ads and lets us show ads to people who visited the site. When you submit a form, your email and phone number may be sent to Google in hashed (scrambled) form to match the enquiry to an ad click. You can manage Google ads at adssettings.google.com.
- Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram) records page views, form submissions and call or email taps so we can measure our Meta ads and show ads to past visitors. You can manage this in your Meta ad preferences.
- Microsoft Clarity may be used to see how visitors scroll and click, through heatmaps and anonymized session replays, so we can fix confusing pages. Form entries are masked. Microsoft privacy statement.
- Google Search Console tells us which searches bring people to the site. It does not set cookies on your device.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site still works without them, although we will not be able to measure visits or ad results. Google offers a browser add-on to opt out of Google Analytics.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only when needed to run our business and deliver your project:
- Service providers who work for us, such as our customer relationship management system (HighLevel), website hosting, email, phone and text messaging providers, and the analytics and advertising services listed above.
- Trades, designers and suppliers working on your project, limited to what they need to do their part.
- Authorities such as municipal permit offices, or where the law requires it.
- A buyer of our business, if Rose Valley is sold or merged, under the same protections described here.
Some of these providers store data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to authorities under local law.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry information for as long as it is useful for following up with you, and project records for as long as needed for warranty, tax and legal purposes, generally up to seven years after a project ends. After that we delete or anonymize it.
How we protect it
The website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, access to our systems is limited to staff who need it, and our providers use industry-standard safeguards. No system is perfectly secure, so please do not send sensitive information such as banking details through website forms.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent for us to use it, subject to legal and contractual limits. We will reply within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Children
This website is meant for adults planning a renovation. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services or the law change. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
